In 2012 The Regional Planning Commission asked for Public Comments on two Options to develop West End Lake Shore Park. Many answered “neither” and to retain the park as a park.
Some questioned why more money was needed for park expenses
Analysis of the boat slip fees and showed below average fees were being used for claiming more revenue was needed.
In 2019 New Orleans passed an extra tax for Parks.
Why can’t existing Property Tax, boathouse lease fees, and local sales tax revenue cover park expenses?
