Ordinances Proposed by Council Member Giarrusso
A Council Member Giarrusso has been working to change Local Ordinances and State Laws to allow development of the Open Space Lawn in West End Lakeshore Park for Commercial and Retail uses.
Moving Bars that were in Jefferson Parish to West End Lakeshore Park
Has required great effort to overturn State Acts dating back to 1906. It does not appear local officials have been able to completely remove all state laws that protect the “Public Park” to develop it with commercial and retail.
Currently
More than 90% of those surveyed favor retaining the open space and protecting the pelicans, eagles, and other wildlife that live where the park meets the lake.
